Popular newspaper and broadcasting website, USA Today, is currently accepting votes to find their “10Best Reader’s Choice Award” winners for travel and vacation destinations. The categories range from hotels and restaurants to festivals and golf courses, but two of the categories are of particular interest to us here at the Dark Ride Database. Those are the categories “Best New Attraction” and ”Best New Theme Park Attraction”, both searching for the best attraction in their field within the USA.
The nominees are chosen by a selection of 20 experts in their field and comprise a list of exciting new attractions all around the USA. In the 10Best category of “Best New Theme Park Attraction”, several nominees are listed on the Dark Ride Database, including Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Primordial, Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel and Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
But it’s important to remember that while theme parks tend to have the majority, they’re not the only place you can find amazing dark rides. The 10Best category of “Best New Attraction” has a number of great choices, including LEGO Discovery Center Washington, D.C. and Treasure Hunt: The Ride. Both of these feature high tech dark rides that we have discussed many times on our site, with the LEGO Discovery Center having another iteration of their fantastic Imagination Express, using a ride system from ETF Ride Systems

Looking at this lineup it certainly has been an impressive year with a lot of wonderful new rides and attractions making it even harder to pick a favorite. You can vote for your favorites once a day until the polls close on Dec 24, 2023.
