Well-known amusement operator Merlin Entertainments has revealed the opening date for the newest LEGO Discovery Centre. This new Centre will opening in Springfield, VA, USA, near Washington D.C., and features the Imagination Express dark ride. The center is set to open on 14 August with a soft opening on 10 August, allowing people their first look in the newest installment of the successful family entertainment forumula.
The Imagination Express interactive dark ride can be found at multiple recent LEGO Discovery Centers, and is the newest incarnation of the Discovery Centre dark ride. Up to 5 guests board vehicles shaped like en Lego locomotive, which are equiped with interactive wands. They have to retrieve a map to find their way back to the Discovery Centre, taking them through three interactive scenes and a few Lego props along the way.
The center will also feature the Creative Club, a new activity that will be present in all new LEGO Discovery Centers. This club gives guests daily building opportunities, enabling them to create their very own LEGO creations from sketch to the final product. This activity debuted in the LEGO Discovery Centre in Brussels, and is now making its way to this brand new Centre.
LEGO Discovery Centre Washington is set to open on 14 August with a soft opening on 10 August, allowing people their first look in the newest installment of the successful family entertainment forumula. The centre will be the 29th Discovery Centre to open. Number 30 is supposed to be opening in Hamburg, Germany, later this year, including another Imagination Express.
