Bobbejaanland (Belgium) has been working hard on getting their new dark ride log flume Terra Magma finished before the summer season. Today the park announced on their social media the opening date for the public, which will be Sunday 14 May. Terra Magma is a retheme of Indiana River which opened in 1991 and closed only in November of last year.

”Be the first to discover the mystery of the volcano”, the post reads. As explained during a preview for press last month, Terra Magma tells the story of an island on which a volcano is about to erupt. Guests will follow in the footsteps of brave adventurers and ultimately escape the eruption of the volcano.

While just these few weeks ago, the inside of the ride was still devoid of any theming, the creation of which has been outsourced by designer KCC Entertainment Design to various Belgian companies and is being installed at a fast pace on-site. Bobbejaanland posted a picture of the final scene almost finished last week on their socials.

Also on the outside one can view the facade gradually becoming less Indiana River and more Terra Magma. Wooden houses have been put up in front of the entrance tunnel and the old step pyramid at the exit has been removed, making way for a stranded ship. The rest of the building will soon be hidden behind a canvas with the island of Terra Magma printed onto it.
