All eyes in the theme park industry are looking at Saudi Arabia, where construction of Six Flags Qiddiya City is well under way. Most will know about the great line up of roller coasters in the park, including the multi record breaking Falcon’s Flight. But the park will feature not one, but two brand new designed dark rides. Today, Triotech released information on one of these rides, called “Into the Deep“.

Six Flags Qiddiya City is an entertainment complex that is being built just outside Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital. It will feature a brand new Formula 1 race circuit and multiple theme parks. The first to be announced was Six Flags Qiddiya (City). The coaster line up and overall plan for themed zones for the park had been previously announced, but details on the two planned dark rides remained unknown.

Triotech announced today to be supplying one of the two dark rides, called “Into The Deep”. Visitors of the dark ride will journey into the ocean on a thrilling underwater expedition to help restore the beauty and wonder to life below the surface. The attraction is said to span over 2,400 m², which makes it the largest dark ride for Triotech to date. The attraction seems to utilise Triotech’s Hyper Ride-system.

“Our global leadership in interactive experiences and our proven track record in providing turnkey attractions positioned us to help deliver a unique ride for Six Flags Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia,” says Ernest Yale, President and CEO of Triotech in a press-release, “Our dedicated team is excited to be involved in such a unique and ground-breaking endeavor!”

Six Flags Qiddiya City has not announced an opening date yet, but is expected to open somewhere in 2025. Details about the second dark ride, that is being designed by Jora Vision, are still unknown.
