The state of Kansas is gearing up for an exciting addition with the announcement of another Mattel Adventure Park, set to grace the landscape of Bonner Springs. Mattel Inc. has announced plans to build a second theme park based on several of their famous brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Masters of the Universe and Thomas the Tank Engine. This is the second such park they have announced, with the other preparing for its grand opening in Arizona.

Josh Silverman, Mattel’s Chief Franchise Officer, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will bring our iconic brands to life with epic roller coasters, family-friendly attractions, an immersive theatre, themed dining, and so much more.” This endeavor aims to invite fans, old and new, to experience the world of Mattel in all new ways.

Located in Bonner Springs, Kansas, the site promises to be an “all-new entertainment resort destination,” offering an array of attractions to dazzle and delight visitors.  As of now the attractions that have been announced appear to be duplicates of the ones announced for the Arizona park with a Hot Wheels roller coaster, He-Man Laser Tag, and the one we here at the Dark Ride Database are most looking forward to find more about, the Barbie Flying Theater.

Anticipation surrounds both parks’ openings, with the Kansas one slated for 2026, and Arizona expected to open later this year.  Those interested in the progress of that park can watch a live feed of the construction and even see some time lapse of the process from the beginning.
