Circus Circus Las Vegas has announced the opening date for its newest attraction at their indoor theme park, the Adventuredome. “SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride” is set to have its grand opening on 1 March. Created in collaboration with Sally Dark Rides and drawing inspiration from Nickelodeon’s widely adored animated series, this $6 million interactive dark ride promises a riotously fun experience for all ages. Guests will be immersed in the whimsical world of Bikini Bottom, brought to life through elaborate sets with integrated projections, special effects and lifelike animatronics.

Last November, the first details on the ride were revealed. Guests of will be invited by Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob’s greedy boss, to come and visit his carnival. Seated in trackless vehicles by ETF Ride Systems, guests will get to play various Midway style games through the technology of Alterface. SpongeBob and his best friend Patrick are helping supplying goods to each of the stalls, but when they mix up a crate of Krabby Patty ingredients, the guests suddenly find themselves shooting tomatoes, buns and patties at the stalls. The ingredients attract an unwanted guest: Mr. Krabs arch enemy Plankton, bent on acquiring the secret formula of the Krabby Patty.

Spongebob’s Crazy Carnival Ride is sure to be a future contender. A second installation is already set to open later this year at Land of Legends Theme Park (Turkey).
