Description
The Wikinger Bootsfahrt was a free flow boat ride on the park's artifical lake. It consisted primarely of a trip around the sides of the lake and featured a cave about halfway through in which viking scenes could be viewed.
''Wikinger Bootsfahrt'' is German for ''Viking Boat Trip''.
History
It originally opened in 1968 as Seeräuberfahrt nach Carthagena but following the destruction of the cave in a storm, was rebuilt and rethemed in the process. During the 90s, the lake's water level slowly but surely started to drop, making for difficult operations. Eventually it was decided to close the Bootsfahrt in 1999. Much of the ride would stay SBNO for almost 10 years, until the neighbouring Märchenwald (Fairy Tale Forest) area was demolished in 2008.
