Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most complex and technologically advanced rides ever built and is based on the Star Wars movie frenchise. The ride gives its guests an immersive experience in which they get involved in an alteration between the Resistance and the First Order. Riders first experience a pre-show where they are told that they will be new recruits of the Resistance, and they are about the embark on a new mission. From there riders experience a motion simulator which brings them towards a Star Destroyer, a ship of the First Order. Riders disembark the motion simulator and then walk into the Star Destroyer, where other members of the Resistance help them embarking the Fleet Transport vehicles.

From here, the dark ride part of the experience starts. The trackless vehicles lead their passengers through the Star Destroyer, where they are under attack of member of the First Order. During the ride, vehicles enter vertical elevator shafts. Eventually the ride vehicles enter a motion simulator, again based inside an elevator shaft, during which the riders experience the escape from the Star Destroyer.

The ride qualifies as both a motion simulator and a dark ride. Since the dark ride is the most important part of the ride experience, it is classified primarily as dark ride on the Dark Ride Database.
