Description
Walt Disney Imagineering is the internal design and development division for the Disney theme parks.
History
The division was founded in 1952 as a seperate company by the name Walt Disney, Inc., dedicated to designing and creating Dinseyland. The company's name was changed to WED Enterprises in 1953, after the initials of Walter Elias Disney. In 1965, Walt Disney Productions took over the company, turning it into a branch of the large Disney company. The name of the division was changed to Walt Disney Imagineering in 1986.
