Description
The ''Race for Atlantis'' refers to a race that is held once every 1000 years to determine who becomes the next ruler of the underwater city Atlantis. With the help of Pinda, guests are able to win the race from the evil Gastilius. Notable was the pre-show, featuring a ''safety-rap'' in German.
History
For the 2006 season (soft-opening during winter 2005-2006), Galaxy was retrofitted to play the existing IMAX film Race for Atlantis. It originally played at Caesars Palace (Las Vegas, Nevada - United States) but unlike the original was not projected in 3D. The outside of the building and queue were rethemed to better fit the new movie. Most animatronics in the queue were removed except for a couple which were rethemed. The ride consistently felt victim to audio synchronisation problems. It was removed in 2016 to make way for themed area Rookburgh which includes rollercoaster F.L.Y..
