Description
Piccolo Mondo is a small dark ride which shows highlights from Italian history in a cartoony style. Famous figures like Leonardo da Vinci are depicted as animals. The vehicles are designed as gondolas like on the canals of venice, with mascot Enzo the parrot as rower.
''Piccolo Mondo'' is Italian for ''Small World''.
History
The building of Piccolo Mondo belonged to another dark ride from 1982 to 2010: Märchenbahn Schlaraffenland, later renamed to Ciao Bambini. Piccolo Mondo has the same lay-out, but a new transport system and decor. Also the old music from Ciao Bambini was rearranged for Piccolo Mondo.
When the ride opened in 2011, some decorations like the entrance sign and background of the pizza shop were not finished. These details were added later during the season.
Rethemed versions:
- Ciao Bambini (1982-2010)
- Piccolo Mondo (2011-present)
