Description

This ride is set in the French area of the park, in the cellar of enclosed roller coaster Eurosat, and tells the story of the elderly lady Madame Freudenreich, who collects all kinds of special things. In her basement riders come across a series of friendly, cake eating dinosaurs, kept there in secret by Madame Freudenreich.

"Madame Freudenreich Curiosités" is French for "Lady Freudenreich's Curiosities".

History

The ride originally opened as Universum der Energie. The Omnimover gondolas were re-used from Ville d'Ys - Le Voyage sous la Mer at Mirapolis in France which went bankrupt in 1991. Universum der Energie was opened in 1994 in the cellar of enclosed roller coaster Eurosat which itself opened in 1989.

Universum der Energie closed in 2017 for a redesign, carried out by MackNeXT. The ride system and most of the animal animatronics, manufactured by Hofmann Figuren were kept. It reopened in the summer of 2018 as Madame Freudenreich Curiosités with a new story that better fit the France area of the park, queue line and upgraded scenes. New animatronics were supplied by Sally Dark Rides (Madame Freudenreichs) and Steegmüller Skulpturen (hatchling dinosaurs).

For the 2025 season, the queue was upgraded by Detail Creations. During the winter of 2025/2026, the final scene was changed to resemble a snowy landscape, with the dinosaurs wearing Santa hats and Christmas sweaters.
