Description
If You Could Fly was a omnimover dark ride that was located in the Tomorrowland section of the park. It featured (multimedia) scenes that depicted (mostly tropical) holiday destinations around the world.
The ride was originally sponsored by Eastern Air Lines.
History
From 1972 to 1987, the ride was sponsored by Eastern Air Lines and operated under the name 'If You Had Wings'. When Eastern Air Lines withdrew their sponsorship, the ride closed for 5 days and reopened as 'If You Could Fly' with only minor alterations (most notably, a new soundtrack).
After the ride closed in 1989, Delta Air Lines took a sponsorship deal, after which the ride reopened as Delta Dreamflight (later Disney's Take Flight), containing completely new scenes.
Rethemed versions:
- If You Could Fly (1972-1989)
- Disney's Take Flight (1989-1998)
- Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (1998-present)
