Défi de César

The ride experience of Le Défi de César is split into multiple pre-shows and the mainshow, the madhouse. The entire ride-experience takes about 20 minutes. Riders are recruited for Cesar's army to defeat the Gauls, but they have to go through a couple of tests to join the army. The pre-shows depict some of these tests through interactive elements and projections. In the main show visitors are aboard a ship which they have to sail across the rough sea, however Astérix and Obelix show up and rock the boat.

The interactive effects in the pre-show are produced by Alterface. Sally Dark Rides is responsible for the animatronic of Julius Cesar.

"Le Défi de César" is French for "Cesar's Challenge".
