Description
Wreck of the Hesperus was a dark that was based on the poem of the same name by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882). Visitors would board vehicles that were shaped like small sail ships and sail out to sea. After a hurricane sank the vehicles, they would start to explore the undersea realms of King Neptune.
History
Wreck of the Hesperus opened (1959) and closed (1969) with the park. The site of the park is now The Edgewater Office Park in Wakefield.
