Description
Tiroler Wildwasserbahn was a log flume which includes two drops. During the ride passengers passed through the Zauberwelt der Diamanten (Magical World of Diamonds). It featured scenes of dwarf-like creatures, digging for diamonds, in the presence of a large metallic dragon. The Zauberwelt was also accessible as a walkthrough and the roller coaster 'Alpenexpress Enzian' passes through the caves.
"Tiroler Wildwasserbahn" is German for "Tirolean Wild Water Ride".
History
The ride opened in 1978 without a dark ride section (therefor not listing as a (semi-)dark ride). In 1984 a part of the ride was enclosed when the neighbouring Alpenexpress Enzian (originally 'Grottenblitz') roller coaster was constructed, which also went partially through the hall.
The building originally featured prehistoric animals and was not accessible on foot. the Zauberwelt was created in 1998 by English sculptor Ged Carter. The original soundtrack, by Calren, was reworked for this update.
On 19 June 2023 the Zauberwelt was destroyed by a fire. Both the Tiroler Wildwasserbahn and Alpenexpress Enzian were badly damaged and remained closed. The park decided to rebuilt the attractions, but without the indoor section. The Zauberwelt made way for an outdoors mountain-landscape.
Both attractions reopened on 25 April 2024, but with since the Zauberwelt (or similar indoor section) was not rebuilt, the new version of the Tiroler Wildwasserbahn does not list on the database.
