Description

This ride is based on Snorri, an octopus who is the mascot of Europa-Park's waterpark Rulantica. In the ride, Snorri guides visitors through an underwater world. Snorri and the other characters of the ride were developed by MackNeXT.

The ride contains a section within a projection domes (cars only enter one of two domes). The track inside the dome is placed on a motion simulator, creating movements that matches the projections.

History

Europa-Park had idea's for a ride in the basement of the Scandinavian part of the park for years. On May 26th of 2018, Europa-Park suffered a large fire, destroying the Piraten in Batavia dark ride and the Scandinavian part. The park decided to rebuild both parts of the park and add improvements. The basement in the Scandinavian part was enlarged to fit a dark ride. Europa-Park's own development department started to redesign the new version of Piraten in Batavia and commissioned Jora Vision to design Snorri Touren. The ride opened on October 22, 2019. Development time of the ride was proximally one year, a really short period for a dark ride.

A copy of this ride opened in 2022 at Tetysblu Theme Park, named Snorri.
