Description
With the setting of Mars in 2200, visitors are invited to fight against Alien (Mantide) by riding a special capsule armed with a laser. Including high-tech vehicles that are very complicated to operate and in Indonesia only exist in Dufan. During the game, visitors are required to shoot some evil aliens who will attack visitors suddenly.
'Perang Bintang' is Indonesian for 'Star War' or 'Star Wars'.
History
Perang Bintang is found on the located where once Puri Misteri operated. In 1992, the ride was destroyed in a fire accident, leaving just the facade and queue line intact. The site was left abandoned until 2003. Finally, operator Jaya Ancol received insurance money for the accident and decided to add a dark ride again.
First, an interactive horror concept called Perang Setan (War of Demons) was pitched. Another team envisioned an interactive dark ride but with the theme of space. Perang Bintang (Star War) was chosen. Construction started at the end of 2003. The old facade of Puri Misteri was kept intact and renovated. In 2004 construction was completed and Perang Bintang opened in early January 2005.
The original interactive system was at one point refurbished by Lagotronics Projects.
