The story behind The Lost Temple is about archeologist Jim Carter, who discovered archeological remains at a depth of 700 meters. The storyline is explained via both videos and live actors, spread over multiple pre-shows and queue areas. During the pre-shows, guests are transported deep into the earth where they board the vehicles. During the main ride they go out to follow Jim Carter, but their journey is disrupted by living dinosaurs.
IMAmotion and IMAscore created the media and music of the queueline and pre-shows. The main show media was developed by Super 78, with a soundtrack by Yessian.
The Lost Temple was the first Immersive Tunnel in Europe.
The Lost Temple remained closed during the 2020 and 2021 season due to the Covid-19 measures in Germany and in the 2022 season due to technical issues. The attraction reopened at the start of the 2023 season on March 24.
