Description
The story behind The Lost Temple is about archaeologist Jim Carter, who discovered archaeological remains at a depth of 700 meters. Excited to dig up the fossils as well as enormous crystals, he asks guests to join his expedition.
The storyline is explained via both videos and live actors, spread over multiple queue areas and pre-shows. During the first pre-show set in a lift, guests are transported deep into the earth. After finding the Lost Temple with crystals, Dr. Carter speaks to them in the second pre-show, after which they board the vehicles and the main show begins. They go out to follow Carter, but their journey is disrupted by living dinosaurs, who have apparently been surviving down here for millions of years.
IMAmotion and IMAscore created the media and music of the queue line and pre-shows. The main show media was developed by Super 78, with a soundtrack by Yessian.
History
The Lost Temple was the first Immersive Tunnel in Europe.
The Lost Temple remained closed during the 2020 and 2021 season due to the Covid-19 measures in Germany and in the 2022 season due to technical issues. The attraction reopened at the start of the 2023 season on March 24.
