Description
In this classic ride, riders take place in a flying carpet. The carpets are suspended from the track above. The station is indoor and when the doors open up, the first bend takes place outside with a spectacular view over the city of Barcelona. The carpet then enters a short tunnel with various light and audio effects.
The second part also starts with an outdoor section, before the carpet starts to make its way back, and goes through a second, longer tunnel. It again contains various effects which or loosely related to magic, and depict, among other, magical creatures in jars. The ride ends with a light jump scare of a live actor, dressed up as a which, greeting you.
''L'Embruixabruixes'' is Catalan for something to the extend of ''The Witchlike Witches''.
History
This ride debuted in 1915 as the first major ride of the Tibidabo Amusement Park. Originally, there was a staff member on board to control the carpet, and it was just called ''Ferrocarril Aéreo'' (Aerial Railway). Later, the name was changed to ''Aeromagic''. In 1980, the vehicles were modernised and no longer needed staff members.
The ride was again refurbished technically, this time by Intamin, in 1991. It is not known if the name or theming changed that year, but it is known that the tunnels at that time resembled caves.
In 2005, the ride was renamed to ''Magatzem de les bruixes i els Bruixots'' (Witches' and Wizards' Warehouse), and possibly lightly rethemed, to lay the basis for the theme that is still used today.
In 2016, the current name and effects were introduced.
