Description
Chasseurs de Tornades is a simulator ride themed around tornados. Guests enter the CEMEX centre, where extreme weather conditions are researched. Here they meet with the director of the centre and a tornado chaser, who are working together on building new instruments to prevent tornado hazards. Eventually it turns out a real tornado is heading for the park, and guests join both characters while they try to stop the tornado with their inventions.
The ride's story is explained in an extensive queue line and pre-show. The ride itself consists of a large platform, hosting 120 riders, able to rotate, heave and tilt. The platform is completely surrounded by a screen, measuring 17m in diameter and 8m tall. The screen can open on specific places to show real scenes that are placed behind it.
"Chasseurs de Tornades" is French for 'Tornado Chasers"
History
Chasseurs de Tornades is built inside the building that formerly housed the Images Studio pavillion. When the pavillion was inaugurated in 1995, it included a dark ride.
