Description
'Blå Tåget' is Swedish for 'Blue Train'.
History
Blå Tåget is fourth in a line of five ghost trains at Gröna Lund and the second to be called Blå Tåget. It replaced Spökliften (1968-1981), which was in turn a retheme of the first Blå Tåget (1935-1967). The second Blå Tåget was completely new and featured a ride system by Zierer.
The second Blå Tåget operated from 1982 until 2009, when it was completely disassembled to make construction of wooden rollercoaster Twister possible. A new (and third) Blå Tåget was constructed on the same location, with a stronger concrete structure in order to serve as foundation for the rollercoaster. It features a new ride system built by Gosetto. Magnus Sörman, the designer of this version oversaw the 2010 recreation of the ride. Some of the decorations of the 1982 ride were re-used for the new ride in 2010, most notably the exterior of the attraction.
