Description
Geisterschloss was the first ghost train at the Prater and opened in 1933. The exterior featured a castle on a mountain.
"Geisterschloss" is German for "Haunted Castle".
History
The original Geisterschloss was located roughly in the spot where the Super Autodrom and Break Dance operate today. In 1945, during World War II, the ride burned down like most of the Prater due to bombings.
In 1955, a new Geisterschloss opened to replace it. The exterior is different however and it is not located in the exact same spot, but close to it.
