Description
Although a company named 'Hollingsworth' never existed, the name is used to refer to rides by Fred Hollingsworth, a carnival ride operator and manufacturer.
History
Fred Hollingsworth (born 1930) founded several companies during the second half of the 20th century, constructing fun houses and dark rides. These companies included Holly Bros., Fun Rides and ADCO. His most famous company would become Omni Films International Inc., launching the Cinema 180 in 1974 and the Motion Master in 1987. These rides are considered the origin of film-based amusement rides, and Fred Hollingsworth, being the 'father' of this genre of rides, was welcomed in the IAAPA Hall of Fame in 2015. Hollingsworth died in 2018.
