Description
Advanced Animations produces animatronics and decor for theme parks, restaurants, trade shows and educational purposes. They have worked for big clients like Six Flags, Universal and Disney and are perhaps best known for their animatronic shows.
History
Advanced Animations was founded in 1980 by Bob Marquis and Dan Long to sell animatronics to amusement parks. At that time it was known as Advanced Animation but not long after, the name was changed to the plural Advanced Animations.
One of their first big projects was the Looney Tunes Revue animatronic shows for the Gadget chain of restaurants, owned by Warner Communications. This prompted a buyout from Warner, under which it produced various animatronic shows for parks and restaurants. In 1985, the founders bought their company back and moved from Southbury, Connecticut, to Stockbridge, Vermont, where it remains today. During the 90s, they sold the company to Steve Toth who later past it down to his daughter Margaret "Peggy" Toth.
As of 2025, Advanced Animations is part of Garner Holt Productions. Their current president and CEO is Bob Crean.
