Description
Deep Earth Exploration was one of the most audacious attractions ever attempted. It was the world's first dark ride with a motion base. Vehicles would be fully enclosed at the beginning and open windows to show outside of the car. The ride vehicle towed a second car containing a laserdisc player which provided the video for the projection portions of the ride. R&R Creative was brought in after construction to attempt to make the attraction operate with greater reliability.
History
A specific opening date for the ride is not known as it opened after the park (which opened in December 1993). The ride also closed well before the park. The space previously used by the ride was utilized for the expanded Lightning Bolt-coaster, which opened twice as long as it originally did in 1997.
