Last year it was announced that Ravensburger Spieleland (Liebenau, Germany) would be building a new dark ride attraction for the 2025 season. Construction is well under way and the Scotland Yard ride is due to open this summer — here’s what we know so far.
The new interactive dark ride will be in the park’s Discovery Land area, replacing the Billy Bibers Alpine Rafting attraction which closed in September 2024. By October it was known that Aufwind Rides would be supplying the new ride system and a concept visual was released.

The six-seater vehicles are themed as an old-fashioned car and will take riders through the alleyways of London, the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police. The ride system was also revealed to be trackless.

Much of the work has taken place over the winter months and, in February, the building and surrounding area began to take its final shape. The area will contain a themed ‘typical street in London’ and an authentic London bus will serve as an observation platform.

The ride car design was also revealed in February, the body of which was created by 3D printing. Once finished, these will be painted in black and will use lights on their underbody to change colour, depending on which means of transport they represent from the Scotland Yard game.
The theme of the attraction borrows from a popular game released by puzzle company Ravensburger, who operate the park. “Scotland Yard is one of Ravensburg’s bestsellers, so it quickly became clear that the implementation of this game had to be something very special,” explains Siglinde Nowack, Managing Director of Ravensburger Spieleland, in an announcement on the park website.
Like the Scotland Yard game, guests can expect to become detectives themselves, following clues and making decisions on-board that will affect the events, allowing for multiple different ride experiences.
Ravensburger Spieleland is also home to another dark ride from Aufwind, themed to the game World of Memory. The new Scotland Yard ride is due to open this summer, so stay tuned for an official opening date.
