Description
The Great Dinosaur Expedition was an indoor park revolving around dinosaurs, with a dark ride as its main attraction. Guests would watch a pre-show video explaining the history of dinosaurs, and would then step into a boat to be taken through 7 'zones', displaying the life of prehistoric life through large scale sets and animatronics, each with a distinct theme like the forest and ocean.
History
UNESCO Village originally operated from 1951 until 1990 and was a park with nature and featuring miniature buildings. It closed after 1990 to be redeveloped and reopened in 1993 as The Great Dinosaur Expedition.
It became a large indoor park featuring a museum and activities relating to dinosaurs. A significant section of the building was designated to the dark ride, which was the main attraction. In 2006, the park fell victim to financial troubles and was liquidated.
