Description
Traitor! was a dark boat ride in the London Dungeon, in which guests boarded boats and entered through Traitor's Gate to their execution. The ride featured a lift ramp up to a transfer track, where they are taunted by an animatronic executioner holding an axe, before descending a backwards drop and arriving at the offload platform. The ride was relocated and redesigned as Tyrant, after the closure of the original London Dungeon site.
History
The ride originally opened as Judgement Day in 1997 with a ride system manufactured by WGH. For the its redesign as Traitor, the ride system was redesigned by Bear Rides to replace the original vertical turntable lift with a ramp and transfer track, together with a different scene at the top.
Most of the original first scenes in the ride became defunct for Traitor! in order to accomodate the new ramp, with most the ride taking place in darkness.
