Description
The Einschienenbahn of Rasti-Land is a monorail by Mack with the typical, narrow trains consisting of 3 connected coaches. It has just one station, which is located close to the park entrance, inside of a large wooden building on ground level. The trains slowly climb up and make their way around the park, before going through the upper floor of the same building, in which a dark ride section is located. The scenes are of the ''small world'' variety and depict countries around the world: India, the North Pole and Mexico. There is also an animatronic of the park's mascot, Rasti the rabbit. Once outside again, the trains slowly make their way back down to ground level.
''Einschienenbahn'' is German for ''Monorail''. It is also known as the ''Einschienenhochbahn'' meaning something like ''Elevated Monorail'' or ''High Up Monorail''.
History
The Einschienenbahn opened back in 1978, just a few years after the opening of the park itself. The building and scenes were there from the start although they were different. The original ''small world'' scenes were made by the Heimo company and depicted (different) countries like Mexico and Russia. In 2023, for the park's 50th anniversary, the old scenes were replaced with new ones, made by Hüttinger.
