The Norwegian Hunderfossen Eventyrpark, located nearly 150 kilometers north of Oslo, has always been known for their rides depicting local stories and fairy tales. For the 2021 season, the park announced the addition of yet another ride based on Norwegian literature. Coming summer, the park opens Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator, a motion simulator based on the stories of the Norwegian author Kjell Aukrust.
Aukrust is most famous for his creation of the fictional village of Flåklypa. The stories of the people of Flåklypa were told through columns and eventually also formed the basis of multiple animated films. One of the inhabitants of the village is the inventor Reodor Felgen. The story of the ride is about Felgen’s latest invention, the Hyper-accelerator, which should be the solution to major climate challenges related to sustainability in the automotive industry. Riders are invited to join a test flight together with Solan and Ludvig, two other characters from Flåklypa, and will face many challenges and surprises along the way.
The theming of the ride, giving a spirit of steampunk, is designed and constructed by Farmer Attraction Development. Simworx delivers the motion simulators, consisting of four 8-seater vehicles in front of one large screen. The vehicles have the same steampunk-feeling and resemble some kind of high-tech snow sleigh. The audiovisual media is produced by Qvisten, who previously produced other animations around Aukrust’s books. Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator is set to open during the summer of 2021.
