The Italian Gardaland (Castelnuovo del Garda, near Lake Garda) seems to have closed their Egyptian styled dark ride Ramses: Il Risveglio. The park has sealed off a construction site that includes the dark ride, announcing a new ride for the 2022 season.

An image of the fences appeared on Twitter by user dispatch. The fences announce a “unique world-class ride for adventurers of all ages”. According to user dispatch, there are rumours of a Jumanji themed rollercoaster using the space of the existing dark ride. Gardaland however has not officially announced the closure of the ride, though the attraction does not appear on the park’s website any longer. While it is a possibility that the ride is temporary closed due to the construction site being around it, that is not probable due to the space that surrounds the ride. It is most likely that the ride is closed for good.

Ramses: Il Risveglio was originally called La Valle dei Re (Valley of Kings) and opened in 1987 with a ride system by Eagle Enterprise. The Egyptian style dark ride received a complete overhaul in 2008. Scenes were refurbished and an interactive system (by Lagotronics Projects) and new storyline were added. The ride reopened as Ramses: Il Risveglio in 2009.
