Dutch regional theme park Drouwenerzand is currently building a new dark ride: Landhuys den Linden. It will be replacing their old ghost train, called Spookhuis. According to ScareZone.nl, the new spooky ride will contain a backstory that enhances the immersive experience of the ride.

Spookhuis was a trailer mounted dark ride that travelled the fair circuit as ‘Inferno’, before coming to Drouwenerzand. A permanent building is being constructed on the former site of Spookhuis. The old ride system will be taken out of the trailer and recycled for the new ride. The theming on the other hand, will be custom designed by Leisure Games from The Netherlands.

The name “Landhuys den Linden” (landhuys is old Dutch spelling for landhuis, meaning mansion) refers to the owner of the park, Bert van den Linden. The ride is set to become more extensively themed compared to the former ghost train. It will contain a storyline that is introduced in the queue line. Visitors of the mansion will take a car ride through various rooms of the mansion, where strange things are happening.

An opening date has not been announced yet, but the ride is expected to open in the spring of 2022.
