A new flying theatre has recently opened in Boulevard City, an entertainment area in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh. The theatre, called Flying Over Saudi, takes its guests through the Saudi Arabian landscape, from the coast line to desert, from landmarks to heritage sites.

The theatre was manufactured by Taiwanese simulator manufacturer Brogent Technologies, and features their classic i-Ride system. The theatre accommodates up to 90 guests per cycle, making it the largest flying theatre in the Middle East. The gondolas feature special effects such as wind, mist and scent. The attraction premieres Brogent’s new 8K projection system on a 26 meter domed screen.

The seven-minute film was specifically shot for the attraction and shows a scenic flight over the Saudi landscape. Some of the highlights feature the UNESCO world heritage site of Hegra, the holy city of Mecca and several natural landscapes such as the vast desert and majestic mountains.

“The opening of Flying Over Saudi reflects the growing demand for premium, technology-driven immersive attractions across the Middle East,” states Chih-Hung Ouyang, Chairman of Brogent Technologies in a press-release. “This project demonstrates how flying theater platforms can blend advanced ride systems with cinematic storytelling, offering a landmark experience that connects culture, tourism, and entertainment across the region.”

Flying over Saudi opened just before the end of last year on 24 December.
