Milestone for Universal Studios Florida’s Men in Black ride

Universal Studios Florida’s interactive dark ride Men in Black: Alien Attack reachead a new milestone when it recently welcomed its 100 millionth visitor.

The dark ride, themed after the popular movie franchise starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, opened in april 2000, three years after the release of the first movie. The ride had been in development for five years.

The interactive dark ride contains two paths for cars that move through an alien infested city. Riders must shoot at the aliens to score points. The two cars also interact with each other during scenes.

The ride was designed by Universal Creative and uses a ride system supplied by MTS Sytems Corporation, which is similar to the ride system of The Cat in the Hat dark ride at Universal’s Island of Adventure. Men in Black: Alien Attack received a Thea Award in 2001.
