Today marks the final day of operation for the Madagascar themed dark ride at Universal Studios Singapore. The entire Madagascar area of the park will be closing to make way for future expansions of the resort which are expected to include both a Minion Park and a Super Nintendo World, likely similar to those seen at Universal Studios Japan. This closure affects both the dark ride Madagascar: A Crate Adventure and carousel King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round.

Madagascar: A Crate Adventure was a unique attraction that could only be found at the Singapore park. The major dark boat ride first opened on 16th May 2011. It transported guests through a highlight retelling of scenes from the original Madagascar animated film of 2005 and contained many fun details throughout the extensive ride time. The ride system was created by German manufacturer Hafema, who also worked on the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure ride, which can also be found on park.

Universal Studios Singapore have been holding a celebration event since the 10th March 2022, including extra meet and greets with characters, performances and dance competitions in order to give the popular attraction a well deserved send-off before work begins on it’s replacement – which is currently thought to be a Despicable Me Minion Mayhem simulator ride.
