Description
Guests are invited on a tour of the former home and hotel of Harrison Hightower III, who was an adventurer and collector of cultural antiquities. Part of the mansion includes the 14-story 'Great Tower' in which the ride takes place. One particular item from Hightower's collection is the idol statue 'Shiriki Utundu', which it transpires was stolen from a local tribe after they refused to sell it to him. Upon returning home, the statue was further disrespected and eventually invoked a curse on the building which led to the disappearance of Hightower and the subsequent naming of the 'Tower of Terror' by the locals.
The ride is a freefall ride which includes dark ride scenes on multiple floors in the building. Riders are sometimes offered a glimpse of the outside world when the doors of the elevator open for a short time.
History
Is the third incarnation of the Tower of Terror rides, inspired by the 1994 original at Disney's Hollywood Studios but with an adapted storyline.
