Description
Magic House is situated underground underneath the 25 metre high 'Tree of Prezzemolo'. The tree is supposed to be the home of the park's mascot, Prezzemolo, and is the central point of Gardaland's children's area. The story of the madhouse is introduced in two pre-shows, of which one includes an elevator - however, the pre-shows are generally skipped nowadays.
History
Magic House, at the time called Mad House, was supposed to open in 2001 but the opening was delayed following a the breakout of a fire. The name was changed to Magic House in 2003.
Originally, the ride experience started with a pre-show inside an elevator, taking riders down to the level of the ride. The elevator was also used to bring riders back up again. However, as of 2022, the elevator is not in use: instead, riders walk down and up again via an emergency staircase. The second pre-show, featuring an animatronic of Prezzemolo, was also skipped in 2022.
The soundtrack was changed in 2008 but the original soundtrack was brought back for the 2015 season.
