Description
Hopkins Rides specialised in building water rides. Theoretically, the company is still operational, but rides by the name 'Hopkins' have not emerged since the company was taken over by WhiteWater West in 2012
History
The company was founded by O.D. Hopkins as Hopkins Engineering in 1962, constructing Ski Lifts, with the name changing to O.D. Hopkins Associates Inc. in 1971. The company built its first water ride in 1979. After a bankruptcy in 2001, the ski lift division was split from the rides manufacturing branch, which was now known as Hopkins Rides. In 2012 water slide manufacturer WhiteWater West acquired Hopkins Rides, leaving the company to operate independently, though Hopkins products have since then been sold under the WhiteWater West name.
