Description
Escape from Pompeii is a shoot-the-chutes-ride including a dark ride section. The story of this ride is based on the destruction of the Roman city of Pompeii in 79 AD, when the volcano Vesuvius erupted. Riders board the boats and sail through the archeological site of the ancient city. After climbing the lift, they enter the building for a dark ride section, in which the archeological excavations catch fire because of a new volcano eruption. Finally, guests escape from Pompeii via a large descent and splash.
