Description
Bos van Plop shows the world of Kabouter Plop (Gnome Plop), a popular TV show in Belgium and the Netherlands first produced by Studio 100 in 1997, the owners of Plopsaland. The ride takes guests through a forest going through the four seasons, while over 100 gnomes can be seen working and playing.
The queue features some original props from Plop movies and musicals.
"Bos van Plop" is Dutch for "Plop's Forest".
History
Plopsaland De Panne opened in 1935 as Meli Park, a honey/bee themed park owned by the Meli company. Belgian television producing company Studio 100 took over the park in 1999 and turned it into Plopsaland for 2000. Many rides were rethemed, introducing the intellectual properties of Studio 100. One of these was Apirama, originally opened on 16 May 1979 and was rethemed to Bos van Plop.
For the 2010 season the exterior was updated and the queue redecorated and prolonged. In 2011 the boats were redesigned to resemble a bed, referencing the show in which each episode begins with Plop about to go to bed and sharing what happened today.
Rethemed versions:
- Apirama (1979-1999)
