The UK Theme park Legoland Windsor has announced the opening of a new themed area in Spring 2021. The area will be called ‘Mythica: World of Magical Creatures’. It will include a flying theatre, the first in Britain, as well as two family drop towers. The area will be themed to mythical creatures which will “come to life before your eyes”.

At first the project would be themed to the LEGO Movie franchise. Later the park decided to switch the theme and focus on mythical creatures instead. The park has worked together with children aged between 7 and 11 to test ideas and concepts for the new area.

The original idea of an area, including a flying theatre, based on the LEGO Movie franchise is based on the similar area built in other Legoland parks. The first LEGO Movie World opened in Legoland Florida for the 2019 season. Two more, in Billund (Denmark) and California were announced for the 2020 season. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic both are delayed until to 2021 season.
