Niagara Amusement Park will open their first dark ride, a ghost train, in 2025. The park has been teasing the attraction, called Flying Witch on their social media. On the video, the attraction seems operational and is expected to open at the start of the new season in May next year.
Flying Witch is a ghost train with a ride system built by Pinfari. For over 50 seasons, the attraction was located in Playland in Rye (NY) between 1971 and 2021, where it originally opened as Haunted Mansion, but was later renamed to Flying Witch. When the attraction closed at the end of 2021, it was already presumed the attraction was going to move to Niagara Amusement Park.
Flying Witch will be the first dark ride for Niagara Amusement Park, that has been under new management since 2021. Over the past few years, new owner IB Parks & Entertainment (that also operates Indiana Beach and Clementon Park) has been restructuring the park as the former owners of the park had removed many of the rides. The new owner has been replacing these rides with new, mostly second hand, rides.
Flying Witch is expected to open on the first day of Niagara Amusement Park’s 2025 season on 17 May.
