Playland Park in Rye, New York is dismantling their 1971 dark ride ‘Flying Witch’. This removal is just one of quite a few changes happening at the park. These changes are due to the park’s new management, who received the operational rights over the almost 100 year old park in 2021. While this may be the end for the ride at Playland, it has reportedly been sold to another park.

Flying Witch was manufactured by the now-defunct manufacturer Pinfari and has been spooking guests for almost 50 years now. However, Standard Amusements, the new operational right holders of the park have decided that the ghost train, along with rides like Thunderbolt, Sky Flyer and Starship, has to leave the park.

As for the future of Flying Witch, it has fortunately found a new owner: a yet unknown park in Niagara Falls, New York. This is most likely Niagara Amusement Park, the former Fantasy Island, but this hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.
