Chinese park operator and dark ride designer Fantawild have announced construction on yet another park, and with it are sure to follow more dark rides for the database. The chain currently have over 30 parks operating throughout China and it seems there are always several more on the way.

Known for now as the ‘Hami Kingdom China Runjiang Cultural Science and Technology Project’, or Hami Kingdom, this park will be coming to Hami city (Xinjiang province, China). Early concept art indicates a number of indoor attractions, as is popular with Fantawild theme parks. A drawing was also posted of their Let’s Fly flying theatre, specifically with dinosaur themed media, which was first seen at Fantawild Dino Kingdom in Zigong.

Hami is a particularly remote city when it comes to the world of theme parks, being most notable for its position along the ancient Silk Road. However Fantawild already took their first steps into this region with their two parks in neighbouring Gansu province, opening Fantawild Adventure Jiayuguan in 2015 and Silk Road Dreamland in 2019 (both located near Jiuquan on the below map).

These Jiayuguan parks in particular play host to a number of unique dark ride attractions with a more local theme. Though we can only speculate at this time, a copy of one or two of these may well find their way over to Hami Kingdom.

The planned area for Hami Kingdom is about 1,000 acres, with a total investment of about 3.3 billion yuan (415 million euros). Upon completion, the park is expected to have capacity for 3 million visitors annually. The official construction ceremony began on 28th March 2025 and work is likely to take a number of years, but we will update the database whenever we learn more about the project.
