The 2025 season has come to an end and Dymchurch Amusements (Dymchurch, Kent, England) has closed it doors for the winter. Fans where shocked to see however that the park’s classic Ghost Train got demolished only a few days after. The removal was unannounced and prompted disappointment from fans of the classic ride.

While the park remained silent on the matter for a while, a statement would eventually be released two days after word started spreading. ”It’s an end of an era here at Dymchurch Amusement Park” the statement starts. ”Unfortunately we are no longer able to meet the required levels of health and safety needed with it being such an old ride”. While the opening year of the ride is not known exactly, it is stated to be around 50 years old.
The park assures its fans that a replacement is coming: ”While we will all miss the iconic ride our excitement is already building what’s next.” ”Our new ride promises to bring a modern twist to classic seaside fun with more details to be revealed in the coming months.” While this doesn’t reveal much, it doesn’t rule out the possibility that a new dark ride is coming.
