SeaWorld Yas Island (Abu Dhabi) has opened its doors officially on 23 May, 2023 to resounding acclaim. The brand new theme park boasts many impressive features including what they claim to be the world’s largest LED screen and the world’s largest Aquarium. Among those claims is the opening of a brand new, one of a kind, Dome Ride Theater called the Hypersphere 360°.
The Dome Ride Theater was originally announced way back in 2014, this is actually the first implementation of this ride system. Designed and built by Intamin and Attraktion!, the ride sits inside a 17 meter, 360 degree dome offering a fully encompassed view and a different experience from every seat. As reported on previously, the ride consists of a large rotating ring that spins around inside the dome, while also tilting, similar to a Mad House. Along with the 75 million pixel screen, guests are immersed even further using multiple powerful speakers as well as wind and smell effects.
The Hypersphere 360° is located in one of the eight sections of the park known as the Polar Ocean – Arctic. Accompanied by the robot assistant, and theme park mascot, V.E.R.N.E., the ride will take guests on a trip throughout the world’s oceans to assist the organisation known as S.E.A. (“Scientists, Explorers and Adventurers”), in tracking and monitoring various forms of ocean life.
The whole area of the park is beautifully themed around a polar expedition, even including a full size research vessel named the Ahmed Ibn Majid, filled with interactive activities and viewports, overlooking an enclosure filled with actual walruses. The queue is equally themed, including futuristic looking passages and plenty of display screens. Hypersphere 360° is now open at SeaWorld Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
