Last year Brogent Technologies announced their very first standalone movie for their flying theaters, part of a 12-part series designed specifically for these attractions. Wednesday, during the IAAPA Expo Europe 2024, a special screening was held at “This is Holland,” showcasing the premiere of the series’ first episode: Africa.
Brogent Technologies has been delivering flying theaters for almost 15 years, after the debut of Feeling Taiwan at E-DA World in 2010. Over the years, several versions of their ride systems have been developed, including the m-Ride and i-Ride, with over 25 installations built worldwide. Until now, the media for these rides has almost always been tailored to the specific needs of each operator, often directly tied to the development of a new installation of a flying theatre. While Brogent delivered multiple installations that feature a variety of films, such as FlyOver locations in the U.S., they had yet to create a standalone film for a broader catalog offering.
With last year’s release of Africa, Brogent took its first step into offering standalone movies for flying theaters. This inaugural film highlights the remarkable landscapes of the African continent and is the first instalment in a 12-part series titled *Soaring Earth*. A unique feature of this movie is that it was filmed in 10K resolution and is compatible not only with Brogent flying theaters but also with those from other manufacturers. The film is available in both short and long versions, with options optimized for single or multiple projectors, as well as LED screens.

The Africa movie shown in Amsterdam was the full 10-minute version. During this time, guests are taken on a journey through 30 stunning locations across the African continent, showcasing everything from breathtaking natural landscapes, like Victoria Falls and the Sahara to the majestic pyramids of Giza. The scenes are seamlessly connected using creative transitions, some employing techniques never before used in Brogent’s flying theaters. Additionally, the movie fully utilizes the I-Ride’s sensory features, incorporating scents, wind, and water spray for a more immersive experience.

The This Is Holland installation is one of the smaller installations of the i-Ride, featuring two levels with twenty seats each. The installation uses several 4K projectors, which limits the ability to display the full high-fidelity experience of newer films. The new movie and gondola programming was installed after only a couple hours on the previous day, which highlights both the ease of adding new content and the flexibility of managing multiple films on the system. The latest Africa movie is a significant step forward for Brogent, not only expanding the system’s offerings but also showcasing the high-quality experiences Brogent can deliver to operators and theme parks.
