The name and theme of the upcoming dark ride for Hunderfossen Eventyrpark, previously announced at IAAPA Barcelona, has been revealed. The park will open the new ride from BoldMove Nation in 2026.
The trackless dark ride will be themed to the upcoming 2026 movie ”Flåklypa – Fra Paris til pyramidene” (Rally – From Paris to the Pyramids). This movie is from the same franchise as neighbouring rollercoaster ”Il Tempo Extra Gigante” and simulator ”Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator”, creating a whole area of the park themed to the IP.
The IP itself traces it roots back to ”Flåklypa Tidende”. This was a series of satirical newspaper articles first written by Kjell Aukrust in 1967. These would form the basis for the stopmotion movie ”Flåklypa Grand Prix” in 1975. The story tells about inventor Reodor Felgen and his two animal companions, as they figure out that one of Reodor’s former assistants has stolen his racecar design. This is when they build the racecar named Il Tempo Extra Gigante to compete in the race against the rogue assistent.
The movie follows the same characters and Il Tempo Extra Gigante as they compete in the ‘Paris to the Pyramids’ rally. It was produced by Qvisten Animation, a Norwegian based animation studio that previously provided media for Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator and Traktorbanen. The studio will also be providing the animation for the new dark ride. The name of this ride will be Rally Flåklypa and feature trackless ride vehicles by Rogue Rides, being their first installation. The official opening is set for May of 2026.
