The famous English theme park Alton Towers has shared a new video and announced the opening date for their newest dark ride: Gangsta Granny: The Ride. The ride will open on May 17th. The new released video features author David Walliams and his view of the ride.
Gangsta Granny: The Ride is based on the childrens book by Walliams. The book tells the story of Ben who finds out that his grandmother is a jewel thief. Together they decide to steal the crown jewels from the Tower of London. The new video shows Walliams taking his first ride and shows several of the scenes in the dark ride.
Gangsta Granny: The Ride is designed by Merlin Magic Making, the division designing and creating new rides for the Merlin Entertainment parks. The ride system is delivered by the English manufacturer Garmendale. The ride was originally set to open in 2020, but due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the opening was postponed to spring 2021.
